Dalian is the provincial
capital of Liaoning. Its ice-free port of is strategically located for
access
between the north of
China, Russian Federation, and the nations of northern Asia, hence it's
named "Great Link". And
for this reason, it had undergone several changes of reign, this made
Dalian does not look
like other China cities. Old Tsarist buildings rub shoulders with those
in
classical Japanese
style, the whole leavened with Chinese tradition and a scattering of
modern
hotels and office
buildings. Local seafood features heavily on restaurant menus. It is a
well known
summer holiday resort
with excellent beaches lying below the green hills which flank the city.
Dalian is also one or
the four "priority open cities" out of China's Open Coastal Cities.
